Case study

Florida Autism Center

Overview

The diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder greatly outpaces the availability of treatment options. In an effort to address this issue, RCP invested in Florida Autism Center (“FAC”), a female-founded autism therapy provider to expand its area of operations and integrate a growth-oriented culture into a business that was already intently focused on patient care. Initially $1.5 million, RCP’s investment in FAC grew to $42.8 million across two funds in support of the company’s growth. In addition to capital, during Resolute’s involvement FAC launched an initiative to partner with key educational programs to create a pathway to employment for recent graduates and filling much needed therapist positions at the company.

Outcome

FAC grew from 4 locations at the time of RCP’s initial investment to 53 centers in three states by March 2020, when company was acquired by a private equity-backed strategic provider. RCP’s investment in FAC was recognized as an American Small Business Success Story by the Small Business Investors Alliance in 2021.
